Who runs Bidfident
Bidfident is made and run by one person: me, Stephen Walder, trading as Sheetrics. If you have a question about Bidfident or about your information, email me at [contact email to come]. I read every email and reply myself.
What these pages keep about you
Nothing that says who you are. These pages have no forms, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
If you email me to hear when a feature marked Coming soon is ready, the email comes from your own email app, not from these pages. I keep your address only to send you that one email, and delete it once it's sent, or sooner if you ask.
If you pick a country with the switcher at the top, your browser keeps a small cookie called nf_country for a year, so the pages open in that country next time. It holds the country and nothing else.
The pages load their lettering from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for it and Google sees your IP address, as it would for any website that uses it. The pages are hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep the usual short records of visits (IP address, page and time) to run and protect the site.
What Bidfident keeps once you sign in
To sign in, you give your email address and Bidfident emails you a sign-in link. There's no password to remember. Once you're in, Bidfident keeps:
- your email address, so you can sign in;
- your company's name and settings, and the email address of anyone you invite to your team;
- the projects, estimates, rates and library you build, so they're there next time;
- your votes on the Roadmap.
Your browser also keeps your sign-in and a few display choices (which company is open, your columns and grouping, which videos you've watched) on your own device.
What I do with it
I use it only to run Bidfident for you: to sign you in, keep your work safe, and answer you when you get in touch. I don't sell it, rent it out or use it for advertising.
I only look at a company's estimates when someone from that company asks me to help, or to put right a problem with Bidfident.
Where it's kept
Your account and your work are stored by Supabase, on its servers in Canada (Montreal). Supabase also sends the sign-in emails and stores the videos. The pages and the app reach you through Netlify. Both are American companies.
How long it's kept
For as long as your account is open. If you'd like your account and your company's work deleted, email me at [contact email to come] and I'll delete it and tell you when it's done. Supabase and Netlify keep their own records of sign-in emails and visits for a short time after that.
Your rights in the UK
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I'm responsible for your information. I use it because you've asked for an account and need it to use Bidfident, and, for things like keeping Bidfident secure, because I have a fair reason to that doesn't outweigh your own interests.
Your information is stored in Canada, and Supabase and Netlify are American. Where it leaves the UK, it's protected by the safeguards UK law allows, such as the UK's approved contract terms.
You have the right to see what I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to get a copy to take elsewhere, and to object to or limit how I use it. Email me and I'll reply within a month, as the law asks.
If you're not happy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
If this page changes
The date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what Bidfident keeps about you, I'll email you before it happens.
