Quotes side by side: carry the right subcontractor

Compare subcontractor quotes in an example estimate: the lowest carried, a zero ignored, and what picking another does.

50 sec7 steps

Shown with a Canadian job and dollars; the steps are the same for you.

The steps in words

Open the subcontractor quotes Each trade's quotes sit side by side, with what each one includes.
See the lowest quote carried It goes into your tender automatically. For plumbing, that's Bidder B at 179,200 dollars.
Spot a declined quote A quote of zero is ignored, so it can't be carried by mistake.
Check a trade with no quotes It carries an allowance, so nothing's missing from the tender.
Pick a different quote Bidder B leaves out the roof drains and Bidder A includes the fixtures, so carry Bidder A instead.
Watch the tender move It changes straight away: up 8,140 dollars, the difference plus its markups.
Compare every quote side by side Carry the right one and see what it does to your tender. Watch it again, or try Bidfident.
