Bidfident

Bidfident for concrete contractors

Estimating software for concrete forming and finishing

Concrete contractors use Bidfident to price a slab line by line: edge forms by the linear foot, concrete by the cubic yard with a pump charged for its own hours, finish and curing by the square foot, and saw cuts by the foot. Carpenters, cement masons and laborers each take their own rate, rebar bids sit side by side, and cold weather protection goes in as a lump sum.

Sound familiar?

  • The pump priced for the whole job

The pump is on site for the pour, not for every hour the cement masons spend on the line. In Bidfident the pump on a line can have its own hours per unit, so it's charged for the time it runs.

  • Three crews, one rate

Carpenters forming, cement masons placing and laborers curing don't cost the same, but a blended rate treats them alike. In Bidfident each line takes its trade's rate from the library.

  • Rebar bids in your inbox

Rebar numbers come in by email, and the lowest isn't always the one carried. In Bidfident each sub's bids sit side by side, the lowest is flagged, and you carry the one you pick.

How Bidfident fits your work

  • Bidfident screenshot: the pump for its own hours

The pump for its own hours

Give the pump on the concrete line its own hours per cubic yard and it's charged for that time. Leave it blank, as on the power trowel line, and it runs for the crew's hours.

  • Bidfident screenshot: carpenters, cement masons and laborers

    Carpenters, cement masons and laborers

Forms at the carpenter's rate, placing and finishing at the cement mason's, curing at the laborer's. Each line takes its trade's rate from the library.

Cubic yards, square feet and linear feet

Concrete by the cubic yard, finish and curing by the square foot, forms and saw cuts by the linear foot. Each line takes a quantity, hours per unit, a material price with a waste percentage, and equipment by the hour.

Catch a slab line before it goes out

Lines to check flags a line with no quantity, no cost code, a total of zero, or hours or a material price more than 25% off the library's. Mark a line as right and it stays quiet.

Insulated blankets and cold weather protection as a lump sum, and the foreman by the week, linked to the job duration.

Questions

Can I price concrete by the cubic yard?

Yes. Units are free text, so CY, SF, LF and EA all work. Bidfident doesn't convert between units, so price each line in the unit its rate is in.

Can the pump be priced for less time than the crew?

Yes. Give the line's equipment its own hours per unit. Leave it blank and it runs for the crew's hours, as a power trowel usually does.

Can I add waste to the concrete?

Yes. Each line has a waste percentage on its material, so the concrete can carry 3% and the forms 10%.

Does it work out cubic yards from the slab size?

No. Bidfident doesn't calculate volumes from drawings or dimensions. Work out the cubic yards, then type or paste them in.

Can I price cold weather protection separately?

Yes. Add it to general conditions as a lump sum, by the week or by the month. Weekly and monthly items can follow the job duration.

What if the cement mason rate goes up after I bid the slab?

A submitted bid keeps the labor and equipment rates it was priced with, so a new cement mason or pump rate in your library doesn't move a number you've already turned in.

Does Bidfident work with Claude or ChatGPT?

Not yet, but it's coming. You'll be able to connect Bidfident to your own Claude or ChatGPT account and ask about your estimates in plain English. The answers will come from Bidfident's own figures, so they match the estimate. It will use the account you already have: Claude first, ChatGPT to follow.
