Bidfident

Bidfident for flooring subcontractors

Estimating software for floor layers

Flooring estimates in Bidfident go room by room in square metres: smoothing compound, luxury vinyl tile, carpet tiles and porcelain, with skirting by the metre. Each product carries its own waste, the tiler is priced at their own rate, and the floor preparation quotes sit side by side. Group by area to see each wing or floor on its own.

Sound familiar?

  • One waste figure for every product

Carpet tiles, vinyl and porcelain don't waste the same, but a spreadsheet often uses one figure for all of them. In Bidfident each line carries its own waste percentage, from 5% on carpet to 10% on tiles.

  • Tiling priced at the floor layer's rate

A tiler costs more per hour than a floor layer laying vinyl, and one labour rate hides it. In Bidfident each line takes its trade's rate from the library, so tiles and vinyl are each priced at their own.

  • Preparation that gets missed

Grinding off old adhesive and smoothing the slab are easy to leave off a flooring price. In Bidfident smoothing compound is a line like any other, and the preparation quotes sit side by side with the lowest flagged.

Tilers and floor layers at their own rates

Give the porcelain line the tiler's trade and the vinyl and carpet lines the floor layer's, and each takes its rate from the library.

Square metres by product, skirting by the metre

Smoothing compound, vinyl, carpet tiles and porcelain by the square metre, rubber skirting by the metre. Each line takes a quantity, hours per unit, a material price with its own waste percentage, and plant by the hour.

Price an upgrade, such as vinyl in place of carpet, as an alternative. Switch it off and it stays on the sheet, struck through, with what it comes to shown beside the totals.

A version is kept each time you save, and every 10 minutes or so while Bidfident saves on its own. Compare any saved version with now, and restore it with a click if the swap didn't work out.

Questions

Can each flooring product have its own waste?

Yes. Every line has its own waste percentage, so carpet tiles, vinyl and porcelain can each carry a different one.

Can I price tiling at a tiler's rate?

Yes. Add a tiler as a trade with its rate, or type it in the Trade cell to add it on the spot, and give the tiling lines that trade.

Does it convert square metres to boxes or rolls?

No. Bidfident doesn't convert between units. Price each line in the unit its rate is in, such as m², m, box or roll.

Can I show an upgrade without adding it to the tender?

Yes. Switch the upgrade's line off. It stays on the sheet, struck through, and what it comes to is shown beside the totals for reference.

Can I go back if a product swap doesn't work out?

Yes. Every saved version is kept. Compare the estimate from before the swap, say carpet tiles to vinyl, with now, and restore it with a click.

Can smoothing compound go on its own line?

Yes. Price latex smoothing compound by the square metre with its own hours, material and waste, beside the finishes it goes under. Grinding off old adhesive can be a package with quotes side by side.
