Free estimating spreadsheet
Free construction estimate templates for Excel
An estimating spreadsheet for each kind of work, set up for Canada: dollars, GST and metric units. Each one comes as a worked example you can change, and as a blank copy to start your own. No sign-up, no email.
Filled one in already? Import lines in Bidfident brings in the lines from its Estimate tab.
What's in each spreadsheet
Rates
Your hourly rates for each trade and each piece of equipment, the job length in weeks, and your percentages: contingency, fee, bonding, insurance and GST.
Estimate
One row for each line of work: its cost code, quantity, hours per unit and material cost, with a starter list of cost codes to pick from or change. Mark a line Excluded to price an option without counting it.
Subtrades and overhead
The quotes you have for each package, with the lowest carried unless you pick another, and your running costs for the job.
Bid summary and quote
Your bid total, worked out in order with nothing to type, and a one-page quote for your customer, with the total filled in from it.
Yellow cells are yours to type in. Grey cells are worked out for you, and locked so a formula can't be typed over by accident. Each worked example gives the same totals, to the cent, as the same job in Bidfident. Version 0.1, October 2026.
The example has a whole job filled in, ready to change into your own. The blank one starts empty.

When your spreadsheet gets heavy
If you end up with lots of bids, changing rates or more than one person working on them, Bidfident does the same sums on a page and keeps every bid with its saved versions.
Enter your email and Bidfident sends you a sign-in link. New companies start with a starter rate library. Who runs Bidfident, and what it keeps about you.
